Wednesday was School Nurse Appreciation Day, and this whole week was school nurse appreciation week, so for this Throwback Thursday at 180Dayz we’re going to repost a cartoon dedicated to those tireless warriors that help keep our students, staff, and schools healthy. Don’t forget to give your school nurse a big hug this week for all they do, and show them this comic as I’m sure they can identify with it (like all my cartoons, it’s inspired by actual school events).

What better way to celebrate School Nurse’s Appreciation Day than with an email of thanks?
Dear [Mystery School District] Nurses,
Happy School Nurse Day to all of you! I want to express my sincere appreciation for the care and concern that you provide to our students every day. We are fortunate to have such devoted, skilled, and caring school nurses in our district. Your efforts to improve the health and well-being of our students are greatly appreciated.
Today, we celebrate you — our exceptional nurses! Your commitment to our students is essential to [Mystery School District]’s mission to have our children succeed. Once again, thank you.
Sincerely,
Mystery District’s Superintendent
… which is remarkably similar to the teacher appreciation week email:

Dan,
I love it. Why not send a letter of appreciation to our nurses (even if we simply just took a chain letter for teachers and change a few words, lol); any little bit of appreciation shown I’m sure is appreciated by our school’s overworked and underpaid health care professionals.
